Snow Surveys collects the end-of-month storage in all of the state's
major reservoirs, and produces a report comparing them with
historical averages. The
California Data Exchange Center
(CDEC) makes these reports available to the public, and maintains
the database that stores these values.

Daily values are also collected from some principal impoundments, for
the purpose of computing unimpaired runoff (full natural flow).
